Lonny Mar/Apr 2011 Issue

Lonny's March/April 2011 issue is now live & it is a cracker as we say here in Australia. It is full of beautiful interiors & features on FEED founder Lauren Bush, Kelly Wearstler & ceramicist Josh Herman to name but a few.

Here are a few of my favourite interior pics from the issue.

There is so much more to drool over in this issue of Lonny, so go check it out.

Dabble - Mar/Apr 2011

Welcome to Dabble, the newest kid on the lifestyle e-magazine scene. As the cover  shows, this is essentially an e-magazine with an equal mix of design, travel & food.

Founder & Editor in Chief Kimberley Seldon of Kimberley Seldon Design Group, has gathered together a team of contributors who are highly qualified in their respective industries. As a result, the premiere issue of Dabble is one of consistently high quality information.

The travel section is also wonderfully informative as is the food section. But as I'm mainly interested in design I've only chosen to show you an eclectic peek at some of the interiors shown in the issue.

Looking forward to the next issue.

Covet Garden Issue 8

Covet Garden Issue 8 is now live. This issue takes a look at the Toronto west-end home of Tomi & Karim. The light, bright, calm space has been largely renovated by Karim who is an editor, director & compositor with Tomi, a graphic designer, adding her touch in the finishes.

Tomi's sparse design & the pale blue palette contribute greatly to the sense of calm & relaxation which this 100 year old home evokes. Although sparsely decorated, the objects to be found in the home reflect the couples' history & cultural backgrounds (Karim's Moroccan heritage & Tomi's Croatian roots).

It's a lovely abode that I imagine all who walk through its' door instantly feel at home in.

Covet Garden continues to bring us "real" homes. Go check it out.

Matchbook - March 2011 Issue No. 2

Matchbook Issue No. 2 is now live. I like the cover of this issue more than the first as I find it more contemporary & the colour really grabs my attention. The cover of the first issue was more dated than I had hoped.

I've had a brief flick through the 168 page issue and it looks very interesting. Highlights of this issue includes interviews with some very interesting people such as Pamela Keogh - author of Audrey Style, Jackie Style, Elvis Style & the recently released Are You A Jackie Or A Marilyn? I own the first three books & must say that if you are an Audrey fan, the Audrey Style book is wonderful.

Other personalities of note to be found are fashion's "prince of colour" - Chris Benz, who is this issue's cover subject. Graphic design maven, Abby Clawson Low, who previously worked as the Senior Art Director for the Kate & Jack Spade brands features also. Abby now heads her own design studio HI + LOW as well as being a partner of Partners & Spade which is Andy Spade's & Anthony Sperdutti's studio & concept store.

Kelly Galvin Robson of online vintage shop High Street Market makes an appearance as do Candice Pool & Soraya Sichenstedt of Finn Jewelry.

But there's so much more. So go take a look at Matchbook. It's a great read.

High Gloss - Premier Issue Feb/Mar 2011

High Gloss debuts today with its' highly anticipated premier issue. The team behind High Gloss include blogging heavyweights, Paloma Contreras (founder & editor in chief) of La Dolce Vita & Erin Gates (editor) of  Elements of Style. The other founding team members include, Shannon Wollack (editor) of the boutique business Life.Style. by Shannon Wollack which provides"exclusive personal shopping & styling services for an elite clientele, Kyle Knight (editor & director of advertising) of Knight Moves, Lauren Rauter (editor) of the stationery boutique & custom stationery line Rock Paper Scissors & Ashley Steen (art director) of Orchard 11.

Well, what do I have to say? OMG! This is an unbelievable debut from the team. Just astonishing. So many lust worthy items & then we get to the interiors that are to die for. I am blown away by the awesomeness of this new production. I want all of the items featured & would be more than happy to live in any of the homes featured.

    Bring on the next issue!

Congratulations to the team for producing a stunning magazine that just exceeds expectations.

Covet Garden Issue 7

Covet Garden Issue 7 is now live. This publication usually garners raves from me, but this issue left me a little disappointed. Although I found the couple featured, Alexx & Paul, very interesting & highly likeable, I wanted to see more of their home. This issue is probably the lightest of all Covet Garden's issue with respect to photos of the home's interior.

The quality of the production is first class, the writing is excellent & the subject matter always intriguing.

The issue is definitely still worth perusing, but I just wanted more.

Adore Home - British Edition Feb/Mar 2011 (Issue 3)

Adore Home is a relative newcomer to the lifestyle e-magazine stable. You wouldn't know it based on the cover of this issue, but Adore Home is an Australian based title.

The British Edition is in fact the third issue of this title. Although heavy on all things Britannia, as you would expect in a British Edition, it's not one just for the Anglophiles. Several prominent Aussie bloggers feature in this issue such as Kellie from Ada & Darcy, Louise from Table Tonic & Viv from ish & chi. Also there's a fabulous kids rooms feature & the homes shown are of "real" people & styles that are attainable whatever your budget may be. There is a mouthwatering High Tea feature which not only has delicious recipes, but equally sumptuous photos. The travel section definitely beckons one to London especially in the Spring/Summer - I need to go back!

I'm overwhelmed by the number of quality lifestyle/interiors e-magazines that are now available. I'm proud that Australia is at the forefront with a publication like Adore Home.

Congratulations to founder & creator of Adore Home, designer Loni Parker on a fantastic issue. Looking forward to the next issue!

Rue - Jan/Feb 2011 Issue 3

Issue 3 of Rue has just gone live. The cover I must say is not to my taste. Although a beautiful pic in its' own right, I think there a numerous better options to be found throughout this issue.

I've had a quick flick through, & there appears to be numerous closeup shots. A broader perspective would have been nice to get an overall feel of some of the spaces showcased. The first half of the issue was skim worthy, but the issue really picks up in the second half. Some of the interiors are very lust worthy indeed.

Go have a look at this issue. There's something for everyone.

    Sandy K

P.S. I'm on holidays at the moment in Australia's style capital of Melbourne. Having a great time. I promise my posting will pickup pace when I return.

Covet Garden Issue 6

Covet Garden Issue 6 is now live. This issue takes a look at photographer Tracy Shumate's studio/home which is located within a converted factory. It's a minimalist space but has such a degree of flexibility that it allows Tracy to constantly change her surroundings.

In other news from this issue, the Covet Garden team is launching a blog. The Covet Garden blog will be up and running from the 15th January 2011. As yet there is no direct link to the blog, but I for one will be adding it to my daily reader as soon as possible. Can't wait to see more from the team.
